A Short Drive from Fort WorthJohnson County, Just South

Matthew & Mois provides Fort Worth movers from a family-owned interstate carrier holding MC 1710429 and USDOT 4368130, working out of Alvarado in Johnson County, roughly twenty five minutes south of the city. Because we carry the load ourselves instead of brokering it out, the name on your estimate is the name on the truck at your curb. Three semis, four box trucks and four regular crews cover the whole range here, from a one-bedroom apartment to a house that fills a trailer. Every piece goes under blankets and wrap, screws and bolts ride taped to whatever they came out of, and the list is written before the ramp comes down. What you pay follows the space you fill, how far it travels, the help you ask for and anything awkward enough to need its own plan.

Two Different Moves, One Company

Leaving Fort Worth, or just crossing it

Most companies that rank for this city treat every search as the same job, and it never is. Someone moving four streets over and someone moving to another state have almost nothing in common except the furniture, and the second of those is where the money and the risk both sit.

Fort Worth to another state

The work these trucks exist for. We are a direct interstate carrier, so nobody sells your move on after you book it. Our strongest neighboring-state activity is Oklahoma and Arkansas, and we serve all 48 contiguous states.

Across the metroplex

We run those jobs every week, with the same four teams that load our interstate trailers. A short drive has never been a reason to wrap less or skip the list.

Large homes in particular

A four to six bedroom house is the job our semis were bought for. The size that has other companies talking about a second trip is the size this fleet was built around.

Whichever direction you are heading, start with a real estimate.

Where We Actually Are

One yard, one set of trucks, two kinds of trip

There is no branch office behind this page. There is a family company with its own warehouse in Johnson County, close enough to Fort Worth that our crews work there daily, and far enough out that the yard, the trucks and the storage all sit in one place we own.

ALVARADO our yard and warehouse YOUR FORT WORTH HOME ACROSS THE CITY OUT OF STATE any of the 48 contiguous states
Moving day starts at our own yard in Alvarado. Loaded once, at your Fort Worth door. Sometimes the new address is across the city. Sometimes it is in another state. Same truck, same crew, either way.

The same yard, the same trucks and the same crews serve both journeys.

What Careful Looks Like

The part that decides how your things arrive

Two Matthew and Mois movers lifting a blanket-wrapped item into the back of the company truck on a residential street Nothing goes up the ramp bare
A mover pulling shrink wrap around a sofa that is already covered in moving blankets Two layers, blanket then wrap
A dismantled bed rail lying on a wooden floor, marked Master BED, with its fixings taped along it Fixings travel with their own piece
A cleared room holding stacked cartons and blanket-wrapped furniture waiting to be carried out Every carton marked before it moves
How a Move With Us Runs

Six steps, and you know about every one of them

Phase 1

Plan

1

A conversation about both ends

We go through the inventory, both addresses and how each place is actually reached. Photos or a video of the rooms work well, and a walkthrough makes sense on a complicated home.

2

An estimate, then the date is yours

Approve the figure and a third of it holds your date on the calendar. Behind that figure sit the same four things every time: trailer space, mileage, the work you want us doing, and any piece that needs its own plan.

Phase 2

Load

3

Loading day starts with a walk

We look at the rooms with you first. Then pieces come apart where that is the safer way out, everything gets wrapped, and the inventory is written down before a single item goes up the ramp.

4

Loaded, checked and signed off

The truck is loaded to hold its shape on the road. We walk the empty rooms with you, finish the paperwork, and settle the pickup balance before pulling away.

Phase 3

Deliver

5

You hear from us on the way

We reach out while the load is moving rather than waiting to be chased, and you get a call ahead of delivery with the arrival window.

6

Unloaded, rebuilt and placed

Furniture goes back together and into the room you want it in, we walk the inventory with you, and the remaining balance is settled at the end.

The Honest Version

We are not going to pretend we are downtown

Search this city and you will find page after page written to sound like it was published from inside Fort Worth. Some of those belong to national brands that do have a location here, and others belong to companies that never touch a piece of furniture and simply sell your details on to whoever bids for them.

Ours is a family business in Alvarado, in Johnson County, about twenty five minutes south of you, and we would rather lead with that than let you find it out later. A company willing to be vague about where it is will usually be vague about other things too, and the reason to book a carrier instead of a broker is that somebody stays answerable from the quote through to the last box.

What being close actually buys you. Our crews are in the metroplex daily, the warehouse sits on the same lot as the yard, and whoever picks up the phone works for the outfit that will do the lifting. What it does not buy is a discount for geography. The figure still follows your inventory rather than your ZIP code.

Nor will we hand you a soft number now and a harder one on the day. Quoting low to win the booking is common enough around here that saying otherwise out loud is worth the sentence.

A real estimate from your real inventory.

If the Dates Do Not Line Up

A warehouse twenty five minutes south of the city

Closing dates move, and leases sometimes end before the new place is ready. When that happens the question is where your things sit in between, and for our customers the answer is a building we own rather than a unit you rent from somebody else.

  • The warehouse is temperature-controlled and under 24/7 video surveillance.
  • We hold goods short-term or long-term, quoted with the move from the same inventory.
  • Access is by appointment, because a mover's warehouse does not work like drive-up self-storage.
  • Storage is available as part of a move we are running, not as a rental on its own.

We do not publish a storage rate for the same reason there is no moving rate on this page. It would be a guess.

Tell us the inventory and we will tell you the number.

Before You Book

What people ask us before they book

Are you actually located in Fort Worth?

No, and we would rather say so. We are in Alvarado, in Johnson County, about twenty five minutes south, which is where our warehouse, our yard and our trucks are. Our crews work across the metroplex daily.

Do you move people to other states?

Yes, and it is the core of what we do. We are a direct interstate carrier licensed under MC 1710429 and USDOT 4368130, serving all 48 contiguous states, with our strongest neighboring-state activity in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Are you a broker?

No. We own the trucks and employ the crews. The company that gives you the estimate is the company that shows up, which is not true of every quote you will get.

What does the move cost?

Four things set it: how much trailer you fill, how far it goes, which services you want from us, and whether anything needs handling out of the ordinary. We work that out from your full inventory, and the number we give you is the number we intend to hold.

Which areas nearby do you cover?

Arlington, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Keller, North Richland Hills, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine and Southlake among others, plus the rest of the metroplex and North Texas.

Can you store our things if the dates do not line up?

Yes, in our own temperature-controlled warehouse with 24/7 video surveillance, short-term or long-term, as part of a move we are running. Access is by appointment.

Are you licensed and insured?

Matthew & Mois operates with all required federal and Texas moving licenses, holds MC 1710429 and USDOT 4368130, and is licensed, insured and BBB accredited.

What North Texas families tell us

Free Estimate

Tell us where you are going

Send the inventory and both addresses, and say which direction this move is going: across the metroplex, or out of Texas. That answer changes how we plan the truck, and planning the truck properly is what keeps the first figure and the final one the same.

We are a family company, and we move memories, not boxes. Your things get handled the way we would want someone handling ours.
