Family-Owned Movers in Texas, Built to Be Handed Down
We are a direct interstate carrier based in Alvarado, south of Fort Worth, moving households to all 48 contiguous states. The company carries our family name, and that was not a marketing decision.
Family-owned movers in Texas are easy to claim and harder to prove, so here is what sits behind ours. Matthew & Mois was founded with a long-term goal: a moving company steady enough to one day hand to our children. We hold interstate operating authority as a direct carrier: MC 1710429, USDOT 4368130. Anyone can look up either number on the FMCSA public registry in about a minute. We work out of our own warehouse in Alvarado, just south of Fort Worth, and we move households to all 48 contiguous states. Four crews run those moves, most of them with us four years or longer. Trucks can be bought and advertising can be rented. A crew that has worked together for years, and an office that stays on the phone with you from the estimate through the delivery, cannot.
The Plan Behind the Name
Mois is our family name. Putting it on the side of a truck was a deliberate decision, because a family name is not something you can walk away from when a season goes badly.
This industry has a pattern that anybody who has worked in it knows. Companies open when the calendar gets busy, take on more than they can carry, and are gone by the time the complaints catch up. We started this company wanting the opposite of that. The plan was never to run as many moves as the trucks could physically hold. It was to build something our kids could take over if they want it, which means every move we do either adds to that or takes away from it.
That changes ordinary decisions. It is why we would rather lose a job to a lower quote than win it with a number we know will move later. It is why the office calls you with bad news early instead of letting you find it out on delivery day. Long relationships are worth more to us than a busy quarter.
Every customer who chooses Matthew & Mois becomes part of our extended family.

Built for Every Season
Plenty of companies show up when the season is good. This one was built to still be here when it is not.
The People Who Show Up
Four crews. Three semi-trucks and four box trucks. That is the whole operation. We see no reason to make it sound bigger than it is.
Four years is the low end of how long most of those crew members have been here. Every one of them is trained, and the training matters less than the repetition. Two people who have never worked together will negotiate a stairwell out loud, step by step. Our crews have done it enough times that they just go.
On long deliveries in distant states, we sometimes bring in local helpers to speed up the unload. When we do, they work alongside our own crew and under their supervision. We tell you that up front instead of letting you picture something else.
The other half of this is the office. Whoever prices your move stays reachable through it. You are not handed off to a dispatch desk that has never heard your name, and you are not calling a number where nobody recognizes the job.
What You Will Not Get From Us
Ask a moving company about its values and you get eight adjectives. Here is the more useful version: the things we have decided we are not willing to do, even when doing them would win the job.
No hidden fees. The estimate names what is included. If something changes on move day, you hear about it before we do the work, not after.
No teaser pricing. We will not quote a number we know is too low to be real. A price that climbs after you have booked is one of the oldest complaints in this industry, and it nearly always starts as a deliberate pricing decision.
No guaranteed delivery dates.Nobody moving freight across the country can honestly promise you a date. Distance, weather, and federal driving-hour limits all get a vote. We give you a window and we keep you current on it.
No pushy sales. If you want to think about it, think about it. Pressure does not create the kind of customer who recommends us to family and friends, and that is the customer we are building this company on.
No last-minute surprises. If the crew is running behind, you get the call while it is still useful to you.
No careless handling.Every piece gets the protection it needs for the trip it is taking, which is a judgment our crews are trained to make piece by piece.
No broken promises. If we cannot do a job the way we said we would, we say no to the job.
No trash talk.We will not run down another moving company to win your business. We have cleaned up after moves that went badly and we still will not do it. Judge us on our own work.

Proof You Can Check Yourself
Trust is not something a website can hand you. What a website can do is point you at the places where our claims are already on the record, so you can check them without taking our word for anything.
Our operating authority
We hold MC 1710429 and USDOT 4368130. Those numbers are not decoration. Enter either one on the FMCSA public registry and you get our record: authority status, the insurance on file, the company behind it.
Any real interstate carrier can be looked up this way, and a company that gets vague when you ask for its numbers is telling you something.
Our reviews, at their real size
We have around forty reviews on Google, plus Trustpilot and BBB accreditation. We know what a number like that looks like beside a company advertising a hundred thousand moves.
We are a small family company and our review count looks like one. What we can tell you is that every review under our name came from somebody whose things we actually carried.
Our warehouse
It is ours, at our own address in Alvarado, temperature-controlled and under video surveillance around the clock. Storage happens in a building we control, not in space we rent by the month from somebody else.
Our photographs
The photos on this page and our service pages are our own crews, our own trucks, and real jobs. None of them came from a stock library. We think real photos tell our story better, and they make a claim a stock image quietly cannot: this actually happened, and we were there.
